Dubai Travel Guide 2025

Dubai is one of the most visited cities in the world — and for good reason. From futuristic skyscrapers to ancient souks, it offers something for every traveler. Here's everything you need to plan your trip.

Visa Information

Pakistani passport holders receive a visa on arrival in the UAE — 30 days, free of charge. All you need is:

  • Valid passport (6+ months validity)
  • Return ticket
  • Proof of hotel booking
  • Sufficient funds (recommended AED 3,000+)

Other nationalities should check with the UAE embassy. Many receive visa-free access or on-arrival visas.

Best Time to Visit

Dubai's peak season is November to March — temperatures are perfect (20–28°C), outdoor activities are enjoyable, and the Dubai Shopping Festival runs in January–February.

Avoid June–August unless you love extreme heat (40–45°C). Hotels are significantly cheaper in summer, but outdoor activities are limited.

Currency & Budget

The UAE uses the Dirham (AED). 1 USD = approximately 3.67 AED.

Daily budget estimates per person:

  • Budget traveler: AED 200–350/day ($55–95)
  • Mid-range: AED 400–700/day ($110–190)
  • Luxury: AED 1,000+/day ($270+)

Top Attractions

Free & low cost

  • Dubai Creek & old Deira souks
  • Jumeirah Beach (public section)
  • Dubai Frame (AED 50)
  • Global Village (Oct–May, AED 20)

Must-pay experiences

  • Burj Khalifa (At the Top): AED 149–369
  • Dubai Mall & Dubai Fountain: free entry, optional ice rink
  • Desert safari: AED 150–300
  • Dubai Marina dhow cruise: AED 75–150

Getting Around

The Dubai Metro is clean, affordable, and air-conditioned — a great option for getting between major attractions. A Nol card (reusable metro/bus card) costs AED 25 and is rechargeable.

Taxis are metered and relatively affordable. Uber and Careem both operate in Dubai.

Where to Stay

  • Budget: Deira area, hostels from AED 60–120/night
  • Mid-range: Bur Dubai or Business Bay, AED 200–450/night
  • Luxury: Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, AED 600–2,000+/night
